A multinational financial services company is seeking a Senior Accountant in Madrid to manage the accounting operations of its Spanish subsidiary. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in finance and accounting, a degree in business administration, and strong analytical skills. Formación

Overview

As a Senior Accountant, you will manage the accounting activities of our Spanish subsidiary and provide support to the Degussa Holding AG Finance team in Germany and abroad. Your expertise and structured approach will help ensure efficient and reliable financial processes across the Degussa Group.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the full accounting operations of our Spanish subsidiary
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards
  • Optimize and further develop accounting processes, as part of the implementation of a new ERP system
  • Oversee and ensure the accuracy of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and fixed asset accounting, including account reconciliations and intercompany settlements
  • Prepare and coordinate financial audits and work closely with external auditors and tax advisors
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and support tax filings and declarations
Qualifications
  • Degree in business administration or a comparable qualification with a focus on accounting
  • At least 10 years of relevant professional experience in finance and accounting, ideally within an international environment, preferably in the financial or precious metals sector
  • Strong analytical skills combined with a structured and proactive way of working
  • Fluent in Spanish (C2 level required) with good English skills (minimum B2 level); German would be an advantage
  • Impeccable criminal record and credit history
