Monzo seeks a seasoned Risk Assurance Manager to provide independent Second-Line of Defence assurance over risk management, controls and processes. You will ensure EU and Irish regulatory obligations are met, reporting to the Director of Risk Assurance, MBEU, with a focus on conducting reviews, governance and culture across the risk spectrum.

The role is based in Madrid with a hybrid working model (2–3 days in office) and occasional travel to Dublin/London.

Formación

• You have a strong background in risk assurance, internal audit and/or risk management within banking or fintech in the European regulatory and financial services landscape.
• You’ve led reviews across a wide range of risk areas, including ICT and Information Security, Financial/Prudential, Fraud and Financial Crime, Operational and Conduct Risk.
• You combine sharp analytical skills with the ability to communicate findings clearly to diverse stakeholders and provide constructive challenge.

Responsabilidades

• Assurance Plan: Planning, coordinating and executing comprehensive risk assurance activities.
• Thematic Reviews: Conducting targeted reviews across risk areas to ensure design adequacy and operating effectiveness.
• Remediation: Identify and track improvements within risk management framework to completion.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with business and risk stakeholders to understand products and risk profiles.
• Strategic Planning: Contribute to annual risk assurance planning and horizon scanning.
• Framework Governance: Improve the 2LOD framework, methodology and terms of reference.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with 1LOD, Group 2LOD and Internal Audit for independent challenge.
• Reporting & Governance: Report insights and remediation progress to senior management.
• Risk Culture: Promote risk and compliance culture and training across the organization.
