Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
2. 2 years of experience with security engineering, computer and network security, and security protocols.
3. 2 years of experience with security assessments, security design reviews, or threat modeling.
4. 2 years of coding experience in one or more general purpose languages.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience in penetration testing.
2. Experience in consulting.

About the Job:

Our Security team works to create and maintain the safest operating environment for Google's users and developers. Security Engineers work with network equipment and actively monitor our systems for attacks and intrusions. In this role, you will also work with software engineers to proactively identify and fix security flaws and vulnerabilities.

In this role, you help set the direction for product security in Google Cloud and partner with existing teams across Google, including existing Security teams, Privacy teams, and Engineering teams. Help set the focus, direction, and impact of this organization with regards to product security.

Responsibilities:

1. Identify security issues and implement and design security controls, tools, and services to improve security systems and processes.
2. Perform security reviews, research and reproduce vulnerabilities, design secure protocols and systems, and write tests.
3. Look for vulnerabilities with techniques including reverse engineering, fuzzing, and static analysis.
4. Focus on the security strategy for Google Cloud.
5. Respond to vulnerabilities with repos, mitigations, and hardening; surface vulnerability patterns and design them out.
