Overview

The role you’ll play

As our Platform Security Engineer, you will work closely with software, DevOps and QA engineers, building and securing our modern cloud infrastructure and services throughout the software development lifecycle. You will learn and share with other teams and bring the DevSecOps mindset into our developers’ daily routines.

The team you’ll be a part of

Our Technical Enablement team is a cross-functional group of specialists collaborating with all engineering teams in areas such as architecture, data engineering, QA automation, performance and cybersecurity. We ensure LanguageWire’s Product Suite is built, run, and maintained in a scalable, reliable, performant and secure manner.

What you’ll do
  • Own tools and processes to ensure LanguageWire’s secure development lifecycle.
  • Identify improvements to cloud security and engineering solutions to enhance security posture.
  • Define and set up security metrics and tools to enable a data-driven cybersecurity culture.
  • Collaborate with SREs on Infrastructure & Cloud Security.
  • Work with development teams to implement strong security controls and integrate best practices into secure software development.
  • Interface with customer-side cybersecurity experts (e.g., Security engineers, Infosec managers, CISOs) to answer questions about cybersecurity measures and flows.
  • Support the compliance management team with technical, security-related aspects of certifications like ISO27001 and TISAX.

  • Infrastructure and applications comply with security best practices demonstrated by data.
  • Development teams adopt a strong DevSecOps mindset and a robust security culture.
  • You are a reference for cybersecurity matters across development teams.
  • You have conducted successful dialogues about cybersecurity within the LW ecosystem with 4-5 customer-side experts.
Desired experience and competencies

What you’ll need to bring

  • 5+ years of security engineering experience
  • Solid understanding of building and operating secure systems at scale
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code and automation tools (e.g., Terraform)
  • Experience with cloud environments (Azure or GCP), Kubernetes-based deployments, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience maintaining and improving security processes for engineering teams
  • Ability to explain security topics to engineers and cybersecurity experts, internally and externally
Nice to have
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate or Cybersecurity Architect Expert
  • Experience with microservices
  • Experience building authentication & authorization systems (OAuth2, OIDC, ABAC, RBAC, ReBAC, etc.)
