We are seeking experienced Security Engineers to join our small but growing Cyber Security Team at Kraken Technologies. You'll play a crucial role in securing our software development processes, platform services, and shaping a culture of security. This is a creative, collaborative, full-time role within an AWS-focused, agile engineering organization. Specifically, we're looking for a Security Engineer with at least 2 years of relevant experience to help improve security across Kraken Technologies.

What you'll do

• Support activities such as building security services and guardrails for cloud-native environments and AI
• Work with platform and application teams to harden infrastructure, systems, and applications
• Build and maintain security tooling and infrastructure
• Respond to security incidents and improve incident processes
• Develop secure coding practices and guide development teams
• Stay updated with security trends and technologies
• Maintain security documentation, policies, procedures, and guidelines

This role offers opportunities to engage in various security projects and initiatives. We encourage taking on new challenges and collaborating across teams to enhance security organization-wide.

What you'll have

• Experience in areas related to the role (not necessarily expert in all)
• Background in information security and engineering
• Experience with Cloud and platform engineering (AWS, K8S, or similar)
• Understanding of web application security, OWASP Top 10, secure coding, and testing tools
• Familiarity with security tools like WAFs, SAST / DAST, vulnerability scanners
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

What will help

• Security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, etc.)
• Certifications from Cloud / platform providers
• Security qualifications or degrees
• Experience with security tools and logging systems (SIEM, alerts, reports)
• Knowledge of the MITRE ATT&CK framework
