Security Coordinator (SC) Job Description

The Security Coordinator (SC) supports the implementation and enforcement of the global security processes defined by Digital Realty. The SC is responsible for all physical security elements of compliance programs including PCI DSS, SOC, ISO 27001, and relevant local programs.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Supports the security manager in applying and coordinating security requirements for local Data Centers (DCs).
• Ensures training is undertaken by internal staff and external security service providers.
• Conducts security audits and inspections, supporting on-demand audits and inspections.
• Handles first-point escalations and basic issues such as visitor ticketing and customer security questions.
• Supports emergency drills and security tests.
• Assists in site visits and ensures security standards are maintained.
• Manages access rights for external visitors.
• Creates regular reports for Operations departments and customers.
• Advises the Security and Quality Management department on possible process improvements.

Qualifications and Competencies

Hard Skills

• Higher education with professional qualifications in Risk Management, Security Management, or a relevant field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a security department.
• Intermediate experience with security systems and processes.
• Experience with mechanical and electrical access control systems implementation and management.
• Experience managing security tests, emergency drills, and security training.
• Familiarity with Data Center operations and security processes.
• Ability to identify security and BCM risks and propose solutions.
• Advanced knowledge in security management.

Soft Skills

• Proactive attitude and personal responsibility.
• Initiative and cooperation skills.
