What are we looking for?
We seek Senior Backend SDET (Software Development Engineers in Testing) with Java to contribute to a project with a global leader in credit cards, auto loans, banking, and savings accounts.
High proficiency in English is required.
This is a 100% remote position for candidates located in Spain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Test Automation Leadership: Design, develop, and maintain advanced backend test automation frameworks for functional, regression, performance, and scalability testing of Java applications.
- Strategic Test Planning: Lead the creation and execution of comprehensive test strategies and plans, ensuring full feature coverage.
- Quality Advocacy: Promote best practices in test automation, continuous integration, and deployment within the engineering team.
- Collaboration: Work closely with mobile software developers to influence design and architecture for testability, ensuring high code quality standards.
- Performance and Scalability Testing: Design and execute complex performance, load, and scalability tests, identifying bottlenecks and working with the development team to optimize performance.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior SDETs and quality engineers to enhance their skills in test automation and quality assurance.
- Continuous Improvement: Improve existing testing processes, tools, and frameworks, incorporating industry trends and technologies.
- Defect Management: Oversee defect identification, documentation, and tracking, collaborating with development teams for timely resolution.
- Innovation: Provide technical leadership and market insights, fostering innovation within and across teams.
Mandatory Requirements:
- At least 6 years of experience in software development and test automation, focusing on robust backend automation frameworks.
- Strong Java programming skills.
- Experience with backend automation tools like Cucumber or similar frameworks.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, with hands-on experience using Jenkins or GitLab CI.
- Proven leadership in testing efforts, mentoring, and driving best practices.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Deep knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Understanding of design patterns and principles.
- Experience with Cloud Computing, preferably AWS.
- Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, SAFe).
- Knowledge of accessibility testing and W3C standards.
- Proficiency in English at C1 level or higher.
Desired Skills:
- Experience in regulated environments like banking or fintech.
- Degree in Computer Science.
- AWS certification.
- Knowledge of security testing and tools.
