Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test II to drive end-to-end testing and automation for our cloud and edge platforms.

You will build and maintain automation frameworks, become expert in internal distributed systems, and enable rapid, reliable releases with resilient, scalable test tooling. Collaboration across engineering and support teams, with a focus on quality and observability using modern tools like Grafana and Prometheus, will be key to success in

Qualifications

• Engineering background or equivalent in computer science or related field.
• Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Pytest, Robot Framework, or similar).
• Experience operating within Linux/Unix environments.
• Moderate to advanced proficiency in Python.
• Working knowledge of version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins), testing frameworks, and core internet protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP).
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Experience with AI-driven tools for test creation, debugging, or automation, and observability tools such as Grafana and Prometheus - nice to have.

Responsibilities

• Developing and designing tools to thoroughly test/benchmark distributed systems.
• Becoming an expert user of several internal highly-distributed systems.
• Maintaining test environments.
• Creating workflows and tools to automate testing and bench-marking.
