Who we are looking for

We seek a candidate with a Master’s or PhD degree in Optics to join Inmersia as a Scientific Advisor. The candidate will play a key role in transforming Inmersia’s cutting-edge technical innovations into robust intellectual property assets. Main tasks include working with the R&D team to understand and contribute to new inventions and translating inventors’ ideas into technical documentation for patent applications. The role also involves conducting searches and analyses of patent and scientific literature relevant to NEDs to evaluate Inmersia’s IP and business strategies.

What you will do
  • Collaborate with R&D and IP teams to identify and contribute to inventions and prepare detailed invention disclosure forms (IDFs).
  • Write clear, technically concise, and complete invention disclosures (and drawings) for patent attorneys.
  • Analyze patent and scientific publications and summarize key findings for patent attorneys and R&D.
What education & experience you have
  • Master’s or PhD degree in Optics, preferably with a focus on NEDs.
  • 2+ years of experience in writing R&D related technical documentation (ideally related to inventions), scientific publications, or similar, in the field of optics, preferably in XR.
  • Professional working level of English.
  • Valuable extra: Qualification of US Patent Attorney or US Patent Agent.
What technical skills you have
Absolute essentials
  • Broad understanding of concepts in diffractive optics, refractive optics, wave optics, and polarization optics.
  • Working knowledge of optoelectronic components, especially light sources, light modulators, and displays.
  • Familiarity with optical system design.
Valuable extras
  • Deep understanding of the working principles of NEDs or related systems.
  • Working knowledge of optical coatings.
  • Working knowledge of optical component manufacturing.
  • Working knowledge of compact optical system integration.
  • Working knowledge of liquid crystal optical elements.
  • Ability to perform patent searches.
