About Our Team :

The Data Domain’s mission is to transform Cimpress businesses into data-driven organizations. We develop platform products that empower businesses to ingest, store, and transform their data for extracting valuable insights. Embracing the data mesh philosophy, we enable decentralized domain-driven data ownership, treat data as a product, and provide a self-serve data platform.

What You Will Do :

As a Senior Software Engineer, working in a cross-functional and T-shaped team, you’ll be expected to collaborate with multiple teams across the globe, understand the business domain, design solutions, and shape technical direction without requiring direct supervision and direction. Such responsibilities include (but are not limited to) :

1. Design, develop, and maintain microservices and cloud-native applications using .NET 8 and AWS and contribute to the development of front-end (React and TypeScript).
2. Manage our cloud microservice infrastructure and dynamically provision new user infrastructure using Terraform.
3. Help maintain and extend our API-wrapping Python libraries used by our users from the ranks of Data Engineers and Data Scientists.
4. Collaborate with multi-functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into scalable software solutions.
5. Active involvement in designing and implementing efficient and secure API services to support various business functionalities.
6. Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain code quality standards.
7. Implement and maintain automated testing strategies for robust software delivery.
8. Participate in Agile ceremonies such as planning, grooming and daily stand-ups.

Your Qualifications :

1. Proven experience as a Software Engineer with a focus on microservices, cloud-native applications, and data-intensive applications (4+ years in a software engineering role).
2. Strong proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), preferably with the .NET Framework.
3. In-depth understanding of design principles, data structures, and algorithms.
4. Proficient in web development with practical experience using one of JavaScript frameworks.
5. Ability to work in an agile environment and deliver high-quality code within specified timelines.
6. Good communication and collaboration skills, fluency in English.
7. Demonstrated independent and resourceful approach to problem-solving and learning new skills as the team is cross-functional / T-shaped.

Nice to Have :

1. Experience in asynchronous collaboration and remote working.
2. Experience with one of the cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. (AWS is a plus)
3. Experience with Infrastructure as a Code, ideally using Terraform.
4. Knowledge of React and experience with TypeScript.
5. Experience with Python and PySpark development.
