ALK Global IT in Madrid is seeking an SAP Basis Consultant with 5–10 years of experience in SAP environments. You will design, install, and maintain SAP systems, ensuring high performance and strict GxP compliance while collaborating with a multinational team across Europe.

You will participate in projects to upgrade SAP landscapes, manage security and kernel updates, and support releases. Travel about 10% and on-call duties are expected.

Our 2,800 employees support this mission, with Global IT enabling modern technologies and world‑class support across the organization. The SAP solution is embarking on an S4HANA migration, and we are seeking an SAP Basis Consultant to strengthen our team.

What will be your role?

You will join to company's SAP global support team, a global department of about 30 people located at different sites in Europe, most of them located in Madrid, working in close collaboration with other SAP specialist in Global IT - SAP Team.

Your main functions will be:

• Working in collaboration with colleagues within Global IT and end users around the world, you will take part in designing, installing, implementing, configuring, replacing, and documenting our SAP system platforms from an SAP Basis perspective.

• You will support, troubleshoot, and develop existing and future SAP systems and services and related, to ensure the highest level of performance and stability. It will include daily management, security management, kernel updates, system updates, homogeneous copies, EWA reviews, DRTs, troubleshooting.

• You will be also involved in the projects for developing our SAP landscape in the future either through implementing new systems or upgrading and enhancing the existing ones.

• Adhering to compliance and writing documentation based on Pharma regulations (GxP). Experience and demonstrated ability to achieve a kind of compliance is a must.

• Assisting in maintenance and release cycle tasks and working with team members to complete tasks needed for various projects.

• Travel around 10%.

• Occasional work on weekends, 1-2 weekends per month, SAP system and OS Security patching, SAP Release support, Datacenter and Operations support.

• Availability during the emergency situations, semi - on call availability.

What We're Seeking:

• An education in computer science, engineering or similar.

• Structured, able to work autonomously and to plan, structure and execute your own tasks or projects including coordination with colleagues and stakeholders.

• With good documentation skills and attention to details and accuracy.

• Proactive, service-minded and team player attitude.

• Experience working with Agile methodologies.

• Experience in working on regulated environments with strong compliance requirements.

• Experience in working in multinational companies and multicultural environments.

• Fluent in spoken and written English is a requirement – additional languages are an advantage.

• Experience with GxP and qualification of computerized systems is an advantage.

• Be ready to work on-call and weekend work (maintenance and patching) around one or two weekends per month (paid).

Your knowledge of SAP must include:

• You have been working the last 5-10 years in the SAP Basis area and you’re used to work with cross function cooperation, quality mindset, timely delivery and compliance requirements being in high focus, and you are now ready for new challenges.

• Record of development and maintenance activities on system documentation for all SAP instances and interfaces following GxP standards.

• Experience in the administration of different SAP products: SAP ECC, SAP PI/PO, SAP ATTP, SAP BW, SAP BO, Solution Manager, Content Servers, S/4HANA, Hana Cockpit…

• Experience in SAP Cloud Services and applications (BTP/BDC//BAIP) like SII, DRC, BAS, Datasphere, Integration Suite, SAP Cloud ALM, SAP ICH, SAP Concur …

• Base knowledge of Security and SAP Security, Securing Hardening, System Parameters tuning.

• Base knowledge of Certificates, SAP Certificate Management Cloud and On-Prem, network connectivity and integrations.

• Good English command and communication skills is a must.

Valuable:

• Experience in DB management such as: HANA / MS-SQL-Server / DB2(DB4)/MariaDB.

• Experience in OS administration, such as: Linux (SLES,SLE MICRO, SUSE Rancher, Kubernetes), IBM I OS 400, Windows.

• Experience in DR architectures and/or Business Continuity Plans

• Experience in archiving , including configuration of the archiving objects, planning, and execution of the archiving jobs.

• Experience with CHARM and System monitoring in SAP Solution Manager and in SAP Cloud ALM

• Experience in S/4HANA migrations.

• Experience with AI, mainly Joule Agent

• ITIL and ServiceNow experience.
