A global technology partner is seeking a Global SAP Development Lead to oversee their SAP Development Factory for an S/4HANA greenfield implementation. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in IT and 5 years in leadership roles. This position will be nearly 100% remote with occasional travel within Europe, starting ASAP. Applicants must be based in Europe and have a strong background in SAP technologies.

Global SAP Development Lead - 13 months + ext.

On behalf of one of our key partners, RED now has a new opportunity for a SAP Development Lead to head up their Global SAP Development Factory for an S/4HANA greenfield implementation.

The initial contract is until 30/09-2026 with long-term prospects. This contract is to start ASAP and will be almost 100% remote with occasional travel within Europe.

Responsibilities:

1. Define and lead the strategic direction of the Development Factory function, aligning with enterprise goals and technology platform strategies.
2. Lead a team of development and delivery professionals, including internal staff and external partners, providing technical guidance, performance oversight, and professional development.
3. Ensure consistent, secure, and high-quality development and customization across SAP and non-SAP systems, in line with architectural and compliance standards.

Required Skills and Experience:

1. 10+ years in enterprise IT or application development, with 5+ years in a leadership role overseeing development delivery across heterogeneous technology environments.
2. Experience defining and scaling centralized development services or development factories.
3. Deep understanding of SAP S/4HANA Development (ABAP, FIORI/UI5, SAP BTP, SAP CPI, PI/PO), Integration tools and technologies (API Management, Web Services, IDOCs, EDI, BTP, Boomi, MuleSoft).
4. Experience in large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformation initiatives.
5. Experience working in global matrix organizations and cross-functional teams.
6. Demonstrated experience in budget management.
7. Experience managing multi-vendor environments, with strong supplier management and negotiation skills.
8. Candidates must be based in Europe.
