Senior Business Development Manager – Madrid, Spain

As a Senior Business Development Manager with Convera, based in our Madrid office, you will be responsible for building a pipeline of Small-to-Medium-Sized Enterprises (SME) and Corporate customers (e.g., import / export companies, multinational companies) and achieving new business revenue objectives by enabling our partners to grow and manage their international payments and hedging needs. Your focus will be on expanding Convera’s customer footprint in Spain, particularly among SME and Corporate clients.

Responsibilities :

  • Achieve revenue and customer targets by establishing deep partnerships with SME & Corporate customers in Spain, providing payments and hedging services.
  • Build and manage a sales pipeline through direct sales activities and professional networks such as industry associations.
  • Take full accountability for achieving aggressive growth objectives for Convera’s SME channel in Spain.
  • Maintain accurate business forecasts and develop a granular understanding of customer requirements, trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance across the business by working closely with the Compliance department.
  • Position Convera as the preferred partner for SME & Corporate customers when enhancing their global payment capabilities.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Sales Executives to leverage best practices in opportunity management and customer support.
  • Work with colleagues in Compliance, Operations, and Finance across multiple countries.

Qualifications :

  • Fluent in Spanish (native standard).
  • Good command of English (oral and written); additional languages such as Catalan are a plus.
  • Experience in corporate sales and / or management consulting is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of the banking environment, professional networks, competition, and technology suppliers in the relevant geographical area.
  • Understanding of bulk payment processing, international payments, accounting systems, and platform integration is essential.
  • Proven ability to consistently exceed sales targets.
  • Experience selling products / services to SME customers.
  • Excellent presentation and relationship management skills.
  • Strong influencing, negotiating, and communication skills with external and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong financial and commercial analysis capabilities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
