Job Description for SAP ABAP Developer (m/f/d) at REWE Digital Spain

REWE Digital Spain, a subsidiary of the REWE Group located in the Technological Park of Andalusia (PTA) in Malaga, is seeking an SAP ABAP Developer (m/f/d). The Indirect Procurement Product team ensures smooth procurement processes for non-trade goods, focusing on supporting our direct colleagues. They act as service providers, aiming to find the best solutions for our departments and users across stores, warehouses, and central locations using SAP ARIBA, SAP ERP, and SAP S/4HANA.

As the central provider for information and telecommunications systems, we plan, develop, configure, and operate efficient systems for the REWE Group, a leading trade and tourism group in Germany and Europe with around 380,000 employees. Our team of over 2,200 IT specialists sets standards in retail IT implementation and develops new technologies. Currently, we manage over 80 logistics centers, extensive network cables, and more than 23,000 local network connections to ensure continuous data supply to thousands of checkout desks across numerous stores.

What You Will Do

As a software engineer, you may also undertake requirements engineering and process management tasks alongside traditional SAP ABAP development activities. Your responsibilities include:

• Planning and developing sophisticated company-specific applications within the S/4HANA and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), utilizing ABAP OO programming and RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP).
• Gradually replacing interfaces in our SAP WEB Portal, such as Web Dynpro ABAP, with Fiori and BTP solutions.
• Designing, testing, and implementing complex SAP and non-SAP interfaces using modern web technologies.
• Participating in regular training and workshops to stay updated with SAP technologies, facilitated by our networking of SAP technology experts.
• Optimizing business processes, developing solutions for digitalization and harmonization in procurement, and supporting operational implementation.
• Understanding current systems by documenting commercial processes and system analysis.
• Ensuring high quality of solutions and collaborating closely with departments to identify improvement opportunities.

What You Will Bring

• Several years of experience (minimum 4) in programming with ABAP/OO and SAP MM & SD modules.
• Familiarity with various development methods and tools; knowledge of S/4HANA is advantageous.
• Experience in interface programming such as IDOC, REST, or batch input.
• Experience in SAP configuration and customization is a plus.
• Excellent command of English is required.
• Experience with agile methodologies is beneficial, along with enthusiasm for teamwork.
• A degree in business administration, business informatics, or a comparable qualification.
