Santander Corporate & Investment Banking is inviting applications for its Future Talents: CIB Summer Internship Program Europe - Global Markets - Quants in Madrid. This full‑time internship runs June/July through August/September 2027, designed for students finishing their final year in 2028 and with strong English and interest in global markets.

You'll contribute to quantitative finance work, develop models, and collaborate with traders and developers across Europe, gaining hands-on experience

Formación

• University degree in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, CS, Statistics, Data Science or related quantitative field with expected graduation in summer 2028.
• English: high proficiency; another language is a plus.
• Strong mathematical and analytical capabilities; programming in Python/C++/Java; attention to detail; collaborative mindset.
• Interested in quantitative finance, derivatives pricing, model development, financial markets and technology.

Responsabilidades

• Support development, implementation and maintenance of quantitative models and analytical tools used in trading and risk management.
• Contribute to improvements in pricing libraries and model development for complex financial products.

This program is designed for students who will enter their final year of university after the internship and expect to complete their studies in summer 2028. With a high level of English and a keen interest in global financial markets, you will gain hands-on professional experience in an international and fast-paced environment. The full-time internship will run from June or July to August or September 2027, depending on the country.

As part of Santander Future Talents: Santander CIB Summer Internship Program Europe - Global Markets - Quants, you will contribute to Global Markets activities and work alongside experienced professionals across Europe. Some of your responsibilities will be:

• Support the development, implementation and maintenance of quantitative models and analytical tools used in trading and risk management.
• Contribute to improvements in pricing libraries and to the development of models for complex financial products.
• Work alongside Traders and Structurers to understand how quantitative models respond to business needs.
• Apply programming, mathematics, statistics and analytical skills to real market challenges.

• University degree: Currently completing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science or a related quantitative discipline, with expected graduation in summer 2028.
• English level: High proficiency in English. Knowledge of another language would be an advantage.
• Skills: Strong mathematical and analytical capabilities; programming knowledge, preferably in Python, C++, Java or a similar language; attention to detail; structured problem-solving; and a collaborative mindset.
• Interest: A strong interest in quantitative finance, derivatives pricing, model development, financial markets and technology.
