MedBioinformatics Solutions offices are located in Barcelona (Plaza Cataluña) with easy access by public transportation.

MedBioinformatics Solutions is a spin-off from the Hospital del Mar Medical Research Institute (IMIM) and the Pompeu Fabra University (UPF) that provides products and services to unlock the potential of genomics for healthcare and drug R&D.

We have extensive experience in developing solutions in knowledge management, text mining and systems medicine to support applications in precision medicine, drug R&D and in silico toxicology.

Our flagship product DISGENET is a knowledge platform on disease genomics that unlocks the potential of genomics for precision medicine and drug R&D applications.

Who We're Looking For

We're expanding our software team to incorporate an IT Systems Administrator. The candidate will support our team in developing, maintaining and scaling the web infrastructure of the SaaS platform DISGENET. We perform quarterly updates to the underlying databases and review ongoing feature developments in an isolated test environment.

What You’ll Do

• Complete configuration and administration of the AWS environment.
• Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers and related hardware.
• Administer and manage company IT systems (Email, 3rd party SaaS, …).
• Maintain documentation for IT infrastructure, processes, and procedures.

You'll Need

3-5 years experience in:

• RDS, Cognito, Elasticsearch, Docker, Gitlab CI / CD.
• Deployment of applications into AWS EC2, Cloudfront and Lambda environments.

Cloud Certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Architect) are a nice-to-have.

In addition, the candidate is expected to be:

• Comfortable working in a start-up environment, where a pragmatic, resourceful, well-organized, and effective approach is required with limited resources.
• Hands-on, have a decisive approach and a proven ability to work both independently and as a team player.
• Have excellent communication skills in English.
• Have a high level of self-management and organizational skills.
