Position overview
As a Sales Engineer, you will be the technical master of the sales world. You will collaborate with the Sales Team, leveraging your technical expertise to lead solutions throughout the sales cycle and provide thought leadership to transform companies'B2B experiences.
You will not only have a deep understanding of the technical aspects of our offerings but also possess the communication skills necessary to explain these features in an accessible and compelling manner to non-technical audiences, including C-level executives.
Your role is pivotal in the sales process, as you will present solutions to meet client needs, and ensure that the product's technical capabilities align with the customer's business objectives.

Main tasks / Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Sales Team to understand customer requirements and provide sales support.
- Help Sales and SDRs to qualify opportunities:
- Create document questionnaires and update existing ones
- Prepare and Deliver product demonstrations for customers or prospects. These product demonstrations can be:
- Vision Generation: an overview demo that’s main goal is either discovery or create a vision
- Focused: focuses on one or more specific pain or desired value,
- Functional Proof: demonstrate a list of functionalities
- RFP: longer demos to show functionalities based on a questionnaire
- Provide technical expertise and support during pre-sales discussions and helping to close deals
- Participate into bids:
- Quoting the professional services needed to execute a project
- Writing the technical part of a proposal:
- Statement of Work (SOW)
- Change order (CO)
- Participate in Technical meetings
- Asking security questionnaires and scalate them to the Security department if necessary
- Defending the bid
- Give early alerts for risky projects: convoke Go/No-GO committee
- Participate in RFI/RFP/RFQ proposals
- Project handover with Professional Services or Partners after selling it
- Maintain advanced knowledge of product features
- Work in relationship with:
- Sales Reps: preparing demos and technical docs to add to the bid
- Customers: improving their projects (change orders)
- Prospects: doing demos, defending bids
- Partners: support them in the presales phase, preparing demos or writing the SOW, and delivering training if required
- International Technical Support: helping them to identify if the customer is asking for new requirements
- Product Management (PMs/POs): relay customer feedback and inform product enhancements
- Deliver training on Esker solutions to other internal departments, like Sales, Marketing and Customer Experience
- Provide help for marketing activities : exhibitions, presentations, webinars and workshops
- Ability to travel extensively
Training / Required knowledge
- Degree in Engineer/Computer science or equivalent
- Additional Degree in Economics or Business would be valuable
Professional experience
- 8+ years of experience defining business requirements and functional specifications. Preferable in software package implementation (either in a software company, system integrator or in house)
