Intecfy is hiring a Ruby on Rails Developer for a remote freelance role. Our client is a digital product company based in Cyprus, building a next-gen accounting platform tailored for local businesses in a market largely overlooked by global software providers.

This role is suitable for a developer who can work autonomously, has strong backend fundamentals, and collaborates effectively with product teams. You will also mentor and support a junior developer as part of a small, agile team already shipping code and iterating fast.

Responsibilities

1. Build and maintain core features using Ruby on Rails
2. Implement UI interactivity using Hotwire and styling with Tailwind CSS
3. Manage data flows and logic in PostgreSQL
4. Handle background jobs via Sidekiq
5. Integrate secure authentication and roles (Devise, CanCanCan)
6. Participate in agile rituals such as stand-ups, retrospectives, and sprint planning
7. Work closely with the lead engineer and product manager
8. Mentor and support a junior developer through code reviews and guidance

Requirements

1. Minimum 3 years of experience in Ruby on Rails
2. Strong database experience with PostgreSQL
3. Familiar with CI / CD pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred)
4. Based in Europe (±2h CET), self-driven and good communicator
5. English, minimum B2 Level

Nice to have

1. Prior freelance / startup experience
2. Familiarity with B2B products or accounting / fintech systems
3. Understanding of background processing and asynchronous architecture
