Job summary

GE Vernova seeks a ROC Technical Lead for its Remote Operations Center in wind energy, overseeing offshore wind asset operations from a remote hub in Barcelona. You will collaborate with site teams and engineers to diagnose issues, optimize performance, and ensure safe, reliable operation across the lifecycle.

The role requires SCADA proficiency, electrical schematics literacy, strong analysis, and clear technical communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent wind energy experience.
• Hands-on experience with wind turbines or similar electromechanical systems in operational settings.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and apply them in troubleshooting and field support.
• Experience with SCADA systems and digital monitoring tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with clear technical communication.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%.
• Fluent English; willingness to relocate to Barcelona and EU work eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Monitor turbine performance and respond to alarms or abnormal conditions.
• Support commissioning and service activities through remote diagnostics and troubleshooting.
• Assist field teams in resolving technical issues and restoring performance.
• Escalate complex issues with clear and structured technical information.
• Collaborate with engineering and support teams to resolve problems.
• Analyse operational data to identify faults, trends, and improvement opportunities.
• Support reporting and communication of technical findings.
• Contribute to process improvement and operational optimization.
• Support grid outages when required, prioritising safety and compliance.
• Work on a rotating weekday shift schedule with occasional on-call support during weekends and public holidays.
