The RME (Reliability & Maintenance Engineering) - Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Program Manager will provide direct support and partnership to one or more pillars, including Europe Customer Fulfilment (EUCF), Amazon Logistics (EU AMZL), Amazon Transportation Services (EU ATS), and Global Specialty Fulfilment & Retail (EU GSF). This role involves supporting RME pillars from an execution standpoint and leading end-to-end projects/programs. The manager will engage with technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) within WHS, RME, and other functions (e.g., Operations, Ops Construction, Ops Engineering, Worldwide Engineering, R&D, Suppliers, Robotics, Procurement) to improve network WHS standards and procedures. The individual supports field program execution and assists the WHS RME Regional Manager in developing WHS programs, procedures, processes, training, and network capital projects.

Key job responsibilities

  1. Develop strong partnerships with RME and WHS leadership and other stakeholders.
  2. Travel up to 50% based on business needs.
  3. Establish incident investigation, escalation, and reporting structures.
  4. Conduct Master Incident Investigations and analyze trends to propose strategic actions.
  5. Assess risks in maintenance operations, implement reduction measures, communicate policies, and track completion.
  6. Review KPIs and incidents to determine the need for WHS Alerts or RME Safety Network Actions, and coordinate content development through WHS communication channels.
  7. Partner with High Risk Operations, OEMs, Ops Engineering, RME, and Global Risk on equipment-related incidents requiring design or retrofit solutions.
  8. Support RME Leadership in enhancing technician engagement, safety culture, and ownership, including escalation of safety issues and stop work authority.

Through training, policies, and engagement initiatives, we promote safe behaviors and a positive safety culture, ensuring proactive and evolving risk reduction.

Operate Safely.” We enable partners to manage high safety risks related to machinery, equipment, and contractors. Our approach is end-to-end, focusing on risk reduction aligned with the hierarchy of controls. We influence safe behaviors by analyzing human factors, fostering a safety culture, and conducting root cause analyses. We maintain policies, standards, and procedures, continuously improving through targeted programs. Our collaborative and proactive approach ensures Amazon’s operational safety remains world-class.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in program or project management
  • Experience using data and metrics for improvements
  • Experience owning program strategy, delivery, and reporting to senior leadership
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent as per the European Qualifications Framework (EQF)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree or MBA in business, operations, HR, adult education, organizational development, instructional design, or related fields
  • Experience leading process improvements
