Are you ready to make an impact at the intersection of Risk Methodology, Finance, and Risk Management? We are seeking a talented and dynamic credit risk models expert to join our team and contribute to the evolving landscape of financial risk management.

As a key member of the team, you will report directly to the Head of Enterprise Risk Management, where your expertise will drive the analysis and evaluation of credit risk models for PB Spain portfolios. You will be responsible for ensuring that DB Spain credit risk models are adequately overhauled as part of a multi-year programme with global methodology teams, and support efforts to improve their accuracy over time.

We are looking for a candidate with excellent interpersonal skills, a flexible mindset, the ability to work with large datasets (knowledge of SAS is essential), and a passion for working in diverse, global environments.

If you are looking to develop in an international setting, collaborate with top-tier professionals, and play a pivotal role in shaping our regulatory strategy, we’d love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

  1. Lead a multi-year programme to overhaul PB Spain credit risk models (including LGD and CCF), collaborating with global and local teams, including methodology, finance, and application owners.
  2. Ensure the accuracy of credit risk data used in models and align changes with regulatory requirements, including IFRS 9, the new Definition of Default, and CRR3.
  3. Serve as the local expert for PD calculation for PB Spain retail portfolio.
  4. Identify data quality issues in risk processes and implement actions to address and improve data quality.
  5. Develop proactive tasks and maintain professional relationships with risk colleagues, the business, and infrastructure teams.

Skills

  1. Deep expertise in developing credit risk models for retail portfolios, focusing on Expected Credit Loss (IFRS 9) and RWA calculations, with a strong understanding of IFRS 9, CRR3, and the new Definition of Default.
  2. Educational background in Business Administration, Engineering, Science, or related fields, with solid knowledge of risk parameters and advanced risk models (IRBA) under CRR. Experience in credit risk management, audit, or consulting is desirable.
  3. Proficiency in SAS is essential; knowledge of Python is recommended. Strong quantitative and qualitative data analysis skills are required.
  4. Flexible, proactive, results-oriented with a focus on innovation. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask and evaluate processes, controls, and risks.
  5. Excellent communication skills in both Spanish and English, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

We are committed to supporting your development and wellbeing through initiatives that promote mental and physical health, social connection, and financial security, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.

We welcome applications from all individuals and promote a fair, inclusive workplace.
