Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking an RFID Development Engineer to ensure RFID tag solutions work reliably in real‑world retail applications. You will plan and execute validation tests, analyze RF performance, and support new product development within our RFID Innovation Center.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Understanding of product development and industrialization processes from concept to implementation.
• Knowledge of RF technologies, antenna principles, and electronic systems.
• Understanding of RFID technologies, applications and performance considerations.
• Experience using statistical methods and data analysis tools to interpret test results and support decision‑making.
• Strong English communication skills (written and spoken).
• Ability to work effectively in cross‑functional and international teams.
• Strong analytical mindset to solve complex technical challenges.

Responsibilities

• Conduct RF performance measurements and benchmarking of RFID tags and related technologies.
• Plan, execute and document validation tests in lab and field environments.
• Analyze test data with statistical methods to identify trends and root causes.
• Support new product development with technical expertise across lifecycle stages.
• Evaluate RFID technologies, equipment and implementations within the Innovation Center.
• Collaborate with suppliers and customers to resolve technical issues and support qualifications.
• Help optimize testing methodologies and operational processes for better product performance.
• Assist in cross‑functional projects across global teams.
