We are seeking a Resident Project Engineer to represent the project with the engineering partner in China, monitor, and coordinate their work. The assignment is estimated for 12 to 18 months in China (possible locations: Canton/Beijing), requiring relocation.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with the engineering partner to ensure correct interpretation of project scope, specifications, quality, and schedule.
  • Ensure the engineering partner has the latest project specifications, requirements, and contract documents.
  • Transmit project procedures and instructions to the engineering partner and verify implementation.
  • Oversee application of HSE criteria in designs by the engineering partner.
  • Supervise document issuance to avoid delays.
  • Provide missing data to facilitate work progress.
  • Participate in design reviews, 3D model reviews, Hazops, SIL, etc.
  • Maintain proper information flow according to schedule and quality standards.
  • Analyze progress reports and implement corrective actions for delays.
  • Assess staffing needs at the engineering partner’s office and recommend increases as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the field.
  • Proficiency in Chinese is essential, along with willingness to live in China during the assignment.
  • Professional proficiency in Spanish or English.
