A prestigious research institution in Spain is seeking a part-time researcher for a project focusing on the valorization of pollutants through bioconversion. The role involves conducting experiments in laboratory settings and requires a master’s degree in a relevant field. Formación

Job title: Valorization of pollutants through their bioconversion into biofuels and bioproducts

Research line / Scientific‐technical services: Valorization and bioconversion of pollutants

JOB LOCATION AND SCHEDULE: Chem. Engin. Lab., Fac. Sciences & CICA (10h‐12h30, 16h30‐18h,Monday‐Friday).

Tasks to perform:

The technician will carry out research work within the BIOENGIN group of the UDC.

The experimental work will consist of the study, in continuous and discontinuous bioreactors, of parameters that influence the bioconversion of substrates into bioproducts with added value, for example, fatty acids, biopolymers, and biopolymers extraction.

Justification of the duration of the contract:

The duration of the contract is sufficient to carry out the tasks described.

Chemical Engineering, Chemistry and others related to the above areas.

Eligibility criteria

Criteria and assessment of merits:

1.‐Academic record. Up to 25 points. The grade from the academic record will be taken and converted to a 25-point scale.

2.‐Master (Biotechnology, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, etc.).. Up to 15 points. The grade from the academic record will be taken and converted to a 15‐point scale.

3.‐Experience in handling instrumental and laboratory equipment, and in research tasks related to the application, particularly in biopolymer extraction. Up to 15 points (0.5 points per month of experience). With a minimum experience of 12 months to obtain the maximum score.

4.‐Knowledge of English (official diplomas). Up to 5 points. C1 or higher 5 points. B2 or equivalent 2.5 points.

5.‐ Personal interview with candidates in case of a tie for the top positions. Up to 20 points.

A waiting list will be generated with the candidates who obtain a minimum score of 40 points, excluding the interview score.

The merits alleged by the candidates must be documented, and a "letter of expression of interest" must be included.
