Job title: INNOVATIVE USE OF WEREABLE TECHNOLOGY FOR IMPROVING FUNCTIONALITY IN CHILDREN WITH
UNILATERAL CEREBRAL PALSY
Research line / Scientific-technical services: Motor control and environment during childhood
Main tasks to be performed:
The selected person will develop collaborative work in experimental sessions in the field of childhood, within the
NEUROcom research group. The sessions will have to do with the functional evaluation of the manual ability of
children with and without pathology, as well as Activities of Daily Living and Participation. Experimental
therapeutic interventions will also be carried out within a transdisciplinary work team. New technologies will be
applied, in the development and experimentation phase. The experimental sessions may include interviews with families, or the organization of focus groups. Training will be provided in the specific tasks required in the job,
especially those related to data analysis.
Candidates must be graduated in a Health Sciences degree (Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Psychology or
Medicine). It will be of special interest to have academic, clinical and/or scientific experience in
neurodevelopmental pathologies, neuroscience and neurorehabilitation.
Specific Requirements
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
1.- At the time of hiring, the applicant may not have an employment relationship with the UDC.
2.- All applicants must meet the following requirements within the application submission period and maintain
them during the term of the contract:
a) Be of Spanish nationality or any other nationality to which the State regulations attribute equal rights for
employment purposes in the public administration.
b) Have the required qualification and meet the other requirements indicated in the call for applications.
c) Be at least sixteen years old and not have exceeded, where applicable, the maximum age for mandatory
retirement.
d) Possess the functional capacity necessary to perform the corresponding functions or tasks described in the
report.
e) Not having been removed from the service of any Public Administration or from the constitutional or statutory
bodies of the Autonomous Communities through disciplinary proceedings, nor being in a situation of absolute or
special disqualification for employment or public office by court order, for accessing a body or scale of public
servant or for performing functions similar to those he/she was performing, in which said person has been
removed or disqualified. In the case of being a national of another State, it will be required that the applicant is
not disqualified or in an equivalent situation, nor has been the subject of a disciplinary or equivalent sanction that
prevents, in his/her State, in the same terms, access to public employment.
3.- The hiring of foreigners from non-EU countries, which will be formalized for the sole purpose of carrying out
research or technical tasks, will require the presentation, at the time of signing the contract, of the authorization
of residence and employment as an employee or proof of the existence of a cause for exception to said
authorization, in accordance with Organic Law 4/2000, of January 11, on the rights and freedoms of foreigners in
Spain, and their social integration and applicable regulatory provisions.
Eligibility criteria
Selection criteria (out of 100 points):
The merits claimed by the participants must be documented and the requirements stipulated at the time of
submitting the application to the call for applications must be met. Only merits related to the profile of the position
will be assessed. The position will be vacant if no candidate reaches a minimum of 30 points according to the scale,
and only people who exceed this minimum may appear on the eventual waiting list.
- Academic record of the Degree (or equivalent): 20 points will be awarded to the best record and proportional
scores to the other candidates.
- Master's degree related to early care, neurodevelopment and/or neuroscience: The academic record will be
assessed, awarding 10 points to the best record and proportional scores to the other candidates.
- Extraordinary End of Degree Award: 4 points.
- Proven experience in research publications with the tasks specified in this report: 2 points for each scientific
publication in a JCR indexed journal or 0.5 point in a non-indexed scientific publication up to 8 points.
- Professional, scientific or clinical experience, proven in activities related to the tasks specified in this report: 1
point per month of experience up to 16 points.
- Knowledge and language skills in English: the score will be awarded according to the certified level of English, C2
(10 points), C1 (8 points), B2 (6 points), B1 (4 points), this being the minimum score.
- Courses related to the profile of the position: 1 point for each course of 30 hours or more up to a maximum of 8
points.
- Final Degree and Master's Projects related to the profile of the position: 2 points per project up to a maximum
of 4 points.
- Personal interview to assess technical solvency, communication and teamwork skills: 20 points.
The academic certification of the degree must reflect the average grade calculated on a scale of 10 at the end of
the studies, as provided for in the "Resolution of September 15, 2011, of the Technical General Secretariat of the
Ministry of Education and University Planning, which provides for the publication of the collaboration protocol
signed between the Ministry and the universities of Santiago de Compostela, A Coruña and Vigo for the
assessment of academic records", in accordance with RD1125/2003. In the case of academic certifications that do
not include the calculation of said average grade, candidates must attach a declaration of responsibility for their
average grade, which includes the grade for all subjects of the degree, according to the model provided in the
following link: https://www.udc.es/es/pdi/concursos/declaracion/ . Failure to comply with this requirement by the
candidate will result in the exclusion of their candidacy.
The personal interview may award candidates a maximum of 20 points. The interview will only be carried out with
the two people with the highest scores. The interview will be in person or online if requested by the candidate.
Candidates will be summoned for the interview at least 48 hours in advance.
