Eligibility criteria
Applications will be scored up to 100 points in accordance with the following criteria :
A. Academic track (maximum 40 points).
A.1. A maximum of 25 points will be given in function of the grade point average (GPA) in the academic track
record of the required Bachelor degree. Applications with degrees in mathematics as well as in civil, mechanical,
or biomedical engineering will be valued preferentially. In the case of applicants with degrees in statistics, physics,
and other engineering areas, a weighting factor of 70% will be applied to the GPA. In the case of applications with
other degrees, the previous weighting factor will be of 10%.
A.2. The 15 remaining points will be awarded in function of the weighted mean of the grades obtained by the
candidate in courses of their Bachelor degree related to the project tasks as follows : a maximum weight of 1 point
for each 1 ECTS will be awarded for courses related to infinitesimal calculus, linear algebra, differential equations,
numerical methods, and scientific programming; and a maximum weight of 2 points for each 1 ECTS will be
awarded for courses related to applications of mathematics, physics, and engineering in biology and medicine. For
all these courses, the same weighting scheme as a function of the type of Bachelor degree used for the GPA will
be applied.
B. Experience related to the tasks to be developed (maximum 30 points).
B.1. Experience in the analysis of longitudinal clinical databases (maximum 10 points). Each month of experience will be valued with a maximum of 1.5 points.
B.2. Experience in the use of ordinary differential equation models of cancer growth and radiotherapeutic response (maximum 10 points). Each month of experience will be valued with a maximum of 1.5 points.
B.3. Experience in using parameterization methods for ordinary differential equation models with least squares techniques (maximum 10 points). Each month of experience will be valued with a maximum of 1.5 points.
B.4. Experience in MATLAB programming (maximum 10 points). Each month of experience will be valued with a maximum of 1.5 points.
B.5. Other academic merits (maximum 10 points). Awards, scholarships, and contracts related to the project tasks obtained in competitive calls will be valued with up to 1.5 points each.
C. English level (maximum 5 points). A maximum of 5 points will be awarded for the provable knowledge of an intermediate or upper level of English language in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference (A2 : 1 point, B1 : 2 points; B2 : 3 points; C1 : 4 points; C2 : 5 points).
