Una universidad en España busca un investigador de primer nivel en ciencias biológicas, que se unirá al grupo FeMC para realizar experimentos sobre el papel de los astrocitos hipotalámicos en la regulación de la ingesta de alimentos. El candidato participará en la organización del laboratorio y en diversas pruebas experimentales utilizando técnicas avanzadas de biología molecular. Se valorará la formación y experiencia en biomedicina.

Formación

• Experiencia con técnicas de biología celular y molecular.
• Título en Ciencias de la Vida o Biomédica requerido.

Research Line / Scientific-technical services: Role of hypothalamic astrocytes in the regulation of food intake.

Working hours: Monday to Friday, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. (35 hours per week).

This contract is funded through the “BERCE PROGRAM FOR BENEFICIARIES OF RAMÓN Y CAJAL GRANTS.”

The main tasks include:

• Joining the FeMC group at CICA, under the supervision of Dr. Luis Varela Fernández, conducting experiments, and supporting laboratory organization and management.

Specifically, responsibilities include:

• Maintenance and handling of primary cultures and cell lines, preparation of media, and storage in liquid nitrogen.
• Performing cell growth, viability, migration, and invasion assays using various inhibitors and drugs.
• Using cloning, mutagenesis, transfection/infection, bacterial transformation, gene silencing (siRNA, shRNA, CRISPR), or overexpression techniques.
• Assisting with orders, stock management, reagent generation, database creation, and maintenance.

Note: The contract duration is from 01/09/2025 to 30/04/2026 due to grant funding limitations.

Qualifications: Degree, licentiate, or equivalent in Life Sciences / Biomedicine.

Additional Information: Eligibility criteria include educational background, experience with molecular and cell biology techniques, research grants or awards, research stays, and language proficiency. An interview may be conducted for candidates scoring 60 or more points based on these criteria.
