Research Staff - PostDoc Position in Industrial Organization

DeustoTech – Deusto Institute of Technology is the technological research institute of the University of Deusto, located on the Bilbao campus, whose mission is to promote research, training, and knowledge transfer at the service of society and industry.

DeustoTech offers an exceptional opportunity for researchers interested in the field of Industrial Organisation Engineering. Several topics such as integration of renewable energies, improvement of industrial processes, and electrification of industrial processes, mainly through a data-driven perspective.

Activities to be performed

• We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher in the area of Energy & Systems Engineering or Industrial Organization with knowledge in energy data analytics or modeling, simulation, and optimization of industrial processes.
• The candidate will develop an industrial ecology model of the Basque Country.
• Supervision of the activity of research assistants in activities led by the researcher.
• Active participation and leadership in scientific production.
• The candidate is expected to be able to structure and execute research work, interact with the internal team and with external collaborators within the framework of collaborative projects. Moreover, it is expected that the candidate progressively develops its own research line, involving in the definition of research proposals and securing funding.

Minimum Requirements

• Possession of a doctoral degree in an engineering and/or science area with demonstrable experience in simulation and modeling.
• Strong knowledge of Industrial Processes and Optimization Algorithms.
• Advanced knowledge in scientific programming (R, Python, Matlab), experimental analysis, interaction with databases, and different simulation environments.
• A solid level of scientific production according to its career stage.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Demonstrable experience in the participation in the execution and acquisition of collaborative research projects.
• Knowledge of the European, national and regional public support system for R&D&I project financing.
• Independence in the design, execution, and monitoring of scientific and technical activities independently and as part of a consolidated research team.
