YOUR CHALLENGE
Let’s start by seeing if you’re passionate about the following responsibilities:
- Responsible for the development of new robust, cost-efficient processes to enable lean manufacturing solutions for science-based innovations.
- Working alongside a multidisciplinary team of research scientists to aid the development of novel food products and related manufacturing processes.
- Design and drive lab & pilot scale experimental plan to target Proof of Concept & Process of manufacturing methods both in house and in external facilities.
- Explore out-of-the-box, scalable processing techniques that contribute to developing proprietary technologies from scientific discoveries.
- Design, implement, validate and run mathematical and predictive computational models applied to discovery and scale-up of new process lines.
- Define scaling up routes and lead the design of new equipment for large-scale manufacturing in collaboration with research and process engineering partners.
- Contribute to patent drafting and scientific substantiation of patent claims.
- Define Technology Transfer plans in collaboration with the Technology Transfer Manager, ensure resources and anticipate needs.
- Contribute to scientific publications and presentation of results in international scientific conferences.
- Develop domain expertise and share knowledge with R&D peers and operations/engineering team members.
Requirements
- A Ph.D. or Eng.D. in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics or equivalent scientific/engineering discipline and +7 years of industrially relevant experience.
- In-depth understanding of fluid dynamics, heat transfer, plasticity, fracture mechanics, failure analysis, engineering design concepts, and materials engineering is essential.
- Experience in taking an idea/product or process from early-stage research through to the scale-up phase.
- Research experience in modeling and setup of predictive computational process simulations in the area of chemical engineering.
- Understanding and/or hands-on research experience in fibrillation processing techniques.
- Experience in process intensification and continuous manufacturing, with an aim of reducing manufacturing footprint is a plus.
- Experience in bioreactor design is a plus.
- Extracting simplified, yet reasonably accurate model representations from complex physical and biochemical processes/reactions.
- Proven record of scientific and technical innovation.
- Proficient in reviewing scientific reports, and understanding of scientific methodology and scientific documentation practices.
- Effective collaboration in a multidisciplinary research team.
- Fluency in English is a must.
