The PCPNMS research group, associated to the Inorganic Chemistry Department at the Complutense University of Madrid, is opening a Predoctoral Researcher Position, looking for talented and motivated candidates to work on the development of innovative energy conversion technologies. The position focuses on research into advanced electrolyzer systems, aiming to drive sustainable and efficient solutions in the energy sector.
Tasks
Hydrogen production through electrolysis of aqueous waste:
-Synthesis of materials with applications as cathodes and anodes.
-Physicochemical, structural, morphological and surface characterization of obtained materials: TGA, TEM, EDS, SEM, XRD, XPS, N2 Adsorption Isotherms, Raman, FTIR, Gas and Liquid Chromatography, etc.
-Electrochemical characterization: voltammetry, polarization curves and impedance.
-Manufacturing components for electrochemical cells.
-Assembly and testing of electrochemical cells.
-Analysis of developed results and their presentation as reports, scientific articles and conference communications.
-Supervision of undergraduate students
Compulsory requirements
Bachelor degree in Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering o Materials Engineering.
Valuable merits
-Experience in synthesis of metal nanoparticles and metal oxides.
-Expertise in solids characterization techniques: TGA, TEM, EDS, SEM, powder XRD, XPS, sorption measurements, FT-IR, etc.
-Experience in electrochemical characterization: Cyclic voltammetry, polarization curves, impedance spectroscopy.
-Expertise in electrolyzers
-Soft skills: Presentation of results, redaction of manuscripts for publication, etc.
-Oral and written English communication skills (at least B2)
