Offer Description

We are seeking to recruit a Research Assistant to contribute to the strategic project INCIBE - DANGER, focused on security, cryptography, and privacy. The project is being developed by the KISON Research Group, which forms part of the Research Unit dedicated to digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and technology at the UOC.


The DANGER project aims to enhance cybersecurity in hyperconnected environments by developing advanced tools to detect, analyze, and filter malicious or false content, such as deep fakes, using machine learning and blockchain technology for content authentication and traceability. It focuses on creating scalable cryptographic solutions to combat disinformation, secure cryptocurrency transactions against ransomware, and protect IoT and 5G networks through AI-driven monitoring and decentralized blockchain-based infrastructures.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct literature reviews and contribute to the development of state-of-the-art analyses in cryptography and related fields.
  • Participate in discussions and critical evaluations of scientific articles to advance research objectives.
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations, technical reports, and academic papers for publication.
  • Support the validation and testing of cryptographic algorithms and protocols, including implementing and analyzing small algorithm components.
  • Collaborate closely with team members to brainstorm ideas, troubleshoot challenges, and refine research methodologies.
  • Contribute to project documentation and dissemination of research findings.

The successful candidate will be awarded a temporary full-time contract lasting 6 months. The scheduled start date is 1 September 2025.


The physical location will be 22@, located at Rambla del Poblenou, 156, in Barcelona. However, at the UOC we work with a flexible model that combines teleworking with on-site work, depending on organisational needs and the nature of the tasks.
