Job summary

Pleo is seeking a Staff Security Operations Engineer to shape the SecOps function for a fast‑growing fintech. You will own the end‑to‑end security operations program, from strategy to automation, collaborating across Fraud, Engineering, Risk and Compliance.

You will build detection and incident response capabilities, scale our SIEM/logging, improve on‑call protocols, and drive risk reduction with data‑driven dashboards for leadership.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in security operations, incident response, or related discipline with proven risk reduction.
• Strong development background; comfortable with automation.
• Hands‑on SOC and SIEM management, including detection engineering.
• Experience in scale‑up environments and cloud architectures (AWS, GCP).
• Experience applying AI/coding automation to security controls.
• Fintech/payments or regulated environments is a plus.
• Roles like IR management, SOC engineering, DevSecOps are a fit.

Responsibilities

• Build SecOps roadmap grounded in MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, and CIS benchmarks.
• Lead security investigations and forensics from detection to response.
• Design and scale SIEM/logging pipelines; ensure signal clarity.
• Strengthen perimeter and authentication posture (WAF, auth tuning).
• Protect data with DLP controls aligned to data locations.
• Improve on‑call rotation, alerts, and response SLAs.
• Automate detection and response workflows with automation and AI.
• Reduce risk and document evidence for compliance gaps.
• Create dashboards and leadership visibility on response times, coverage and risk.
• Collaborate with non‑security engineers to ship secure changes.
