Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Powertrain Software Engineer to drive development of embedded control software for engine, transmission, and hybrid powertrains. You will design, implement, and validate software across ECUs from home, collaborating with a global distributed team.

The role requires C/C++, RTOS, CAN/UDS, and AUTOSAR awareness, plus strong analytical skills and remote collaboration abilities. ISO 26262 knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years in embedded software for automotive powertrains.
• Proficient in C/C++ for embedded systems.
• Experience with RTOS and CAN/UDS automotive protocols.
• Knowledge of powertrain control strategies; AUTOSAR desirable.
• Familiar with Git and standard development tools.
• Strong analytical and remote collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded software for engine, transmission, and hybrid powertrain PCUs.
• Design and implement control algorithms to optimize performance and emissions.
• Create and maintain software requirements, architecture, and design docs.
• Use MATLAB/Simulink for algorithm development and validation.
• Perform software integration, testing, and debugging on target hardware.
• Collaborate with hardware and systems engineers for seamless integration.
• Assist calibration engineers in tuning powertrain parameters.
• Ensure software compliance with ISO 26262 and safety standards.
• Stay current with emerging powertrain technologies and trends.
