Lever, Inc., on behalf of a partner company, is seeking a Backend Engineer, PHP based in Spain to design, build and scale backend services within a large microservices ecosystem. You will own features end-to-end and contribute to architectural decisions in a fast-moving environment.

You’ll work closely with frontend, mobile, design, data and platform engineering teams, leveraging PHP, Symfony, GraphQL and distributed-system patterns to deliver reliable, high-performance products used by millions

Formación

• 8+ years of professional backend engineering experience building distributed systems.
• Strong expertise in PHP and Symfony with modern framework versions.
• Solid understanding of microservices and distributed-system patterns (CQRS, circuit breaking, service orchestration).
• Experience with databases and data stores such as MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, Prometheus, InfluxDB, or Elasticsearch.
• Familiarity with cloud/infrastructure tech like Kubernetes, Helm, AWS, Terraform.
• Ability to contribute to architectural discussions and make thoughtful decisions.
• Problem-solving mindset with ownership and product focus.
• Collaborative, open to feedback, and keen on learning and improvement.

• Develop and deliver product features with scalability, performance, reliability and user experience in mind.
• Contribute to architectural discussions and shape technical solutions for distributed-system challenges.

• Help improve engineering practices, observability, and system resilience across the ecosystem.
• Take ownership of technical problems from investigation through implementation and continuous improvement.
