AgileEngine in Barcelona seeks a Backend Software Engineer to build and maintain PHP-based systems powering distributed services. You will apply strong OOP, design patterns, and secure API design to keep APIs scalable and performant.

This hands-on role requires collaboration with product managers, architects, QA, and support teams, and entails participating in reviews, documentation, and weekend migration support when needed.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in CS/SE.
• 2 years backend experience in PHP environments.
• Strong knowledge of OOP, patterns, algorithms, data structures.
• Experience building backend systems and integrations.
• Secure API design and authentication/authorization familiarity.
• Relational databases: MySQL/PostgreSQL; solid backend fundamentals.
• Git, CI/CD, and containerized environments familiarity.
• Good communication, ownership, and team collaboration.
• Overlap with Western European Time; weekend migration availability.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and maintain backend systems, APIs, and integrations.
• Contribute to distributed systems and microservices for scalability.
• Apply OOP principles and architectural patterns for maintainability.
• Implement secure authentication/authorization (OAuth2, JWT, RBAC).
• Optimize performance with data structures, caching, and profiling.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, QA, and Support teams.
• Participate in testing strategies and code reviews.
• Maintain API specifications and technical documentation.
• Adhere to security and scalability standards throughout lifecycle.
• Support cross-team demos and engineering reviews.
