Lighthouse is seeking a Backend Engineer for itsCrawler Engineering team in a remote-friendly Spain/Barcelona setup. You will design and build high-performance data acquisition systems using Rust and other stack tools, tackling billions of data points from the web.

You’ll work on proxies, HTTP stacks, and browser tooling, enabling safe, AI-assisted growth across teams. Join a collaborative, global team that handles hundreds of millions of requests daily, with strong focus on security,

Formación

• Experience building production backend services in a cloud environment.
• Proven track record with Rust or strong drive to learn Rust deeply.
• Strong understanding of how the web works: HTTP, TCP/IP, TLS and proxies.

Responsabilidades

• Design, build and operate high-performance data acquisition backends.
• Develop infrastructure components, proxies and browser tooling.
• Ensure secure, scalable and observable systems with clear interfaces.
• Collaborate with crawler engineers, DevOps, and security teams.
• Own code quality, tests and maintainability, including AI-assisted code.
• Investigate crawler issues and implement robust, reusable solutions.
