Lighthouse is hiring a Backend Engineer for its Crawler Engineering team in Barcelona, Spain. You will design and build high-performance data acquisition systems in Rust, handling billions of data points from the web and interfaces with proxies, HTTP stacks, and browser tooling.

Work from home or officed based in a flexible, globally distributed environment. You will collaborate with crawler engineers, DevOps and security to deliver secure, scalable solutions and impact 85,000+ users worldwide.

Formación

• Hands-on experience building, deploying and running production backend services in a cloud environment.
• Experience with Rust or C/C++, or willingness to deep-dive into Rust.
• Solid grasp of how the web works: HTTP, TCP/IP, TLS and proxies.
• R&D mindset; curious about browsers and network stacks; comfortable with ambiguity.
• Strong analytical and debugging skills; comfortable with packet captures and profilers.
• Clear communication, feedback-friendly, team orientation.
• Fluent in English.

Responsabilidades

• Design and develop high-performance data-acquisition systems.

• Enhance backend infrastructure for AI-friendly usage.
• Improve in-house proxy layer and browser tooling.
