Blacksmith Agency is seeking an Automation Engineer to own and ship our internal automation roadmap. This builder role focuses on production systems, not model training, and requires delivering reliable automation on top of AI capabilities.

You will collaborate with engineering and delivery leadership to convert a documented automation roadmap into shipped workflows, integrate with OpenAI and Anthropic APIs, and build scalable automation across our design and development processes.

Qualifications

2+ years building production software with Python or Node.js.
Hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen or similar agent frameworks.
Proven API integration work with OpenAI or Anthropic (function calling, tool use, streaming).
Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks and basic cloud deployment.
English sufficient for async written work with a US-based team.

Responsabilités

Own and ship internal automation roadmap.
Turn documented roadmap of automation workflows into shipped, working systems.
Collaborate with engineering and delivery leadership to deliver automation on top of AI models.
Build production systems on top of AI capabilities, not training models.
