Greif is seeking a Regional EHS Manager – Polymer for EMEA/SEA. The role leads EHS programs across assigned facilities, partnering with operations to strengthen safety culture and reduce risk.

You will drive governance, incident investigations, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance while supporting capital projects and process changes. The ideal candidate brings a decade of EHS experience in manufacturing, with strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive EHS experience in manufacturing or similar settings.
  • Experience supporting multiple facilities within a regional or multi-site org.
  • Proven experience leading incident investigations and audits.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead execution of EHS programs across assigned region, aligning with standards.
  • Provide hands-on operational support and strategic leadership for EHS.
  • Drive standardization, governance, and regional/global EHS roadmap execution.
  • Perform site visits, risk assessments, incident investigations, and reviews.
  • Coach facility leaders on regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Support regulatory inspections, customer audits, and external engagements.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Quality, HR, and Supply Chain.

Job Description:

Leads the execution of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs and initiatives across an assigned region, serving as a strategic partner to operations and a key resource for facility leadership. Provides both hands‑on operational support and strategic leadership to strengthen EHS performance, reduce organizational risk, and ensure alignment with corporate standards and objectives. Supports facilities through site engagement, project reviews, incident response, risk assessments, and implementation of EHS initiatives while driving standardization, best practice sharing, governance, and execution of the regional and global EHS roadmap.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provides direct EHS support to manufacturing and operational facilities through routine site visits, assessments, audits, and leadership engagement.
  • Partners with facility and regional leadership teams to improve EHS performance, strengthen safety culture, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Conducts EHS reviews of capital projects, equipment installations, process modifications, and operational changes to ensure risks are identified and effectively managed.
  • Supports Engineering Project Approval Reviews (EPAR), Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), commissioning activities, startup reviews, and operational readiness assessments to ensure EHS requirements are integrated into project execution.
  • Responds to significant incidents and high‑risk events by providing remote and on‑site support for investigations, root‑cause analysis, corrective action development, and verification of effectiveness.
  • Provides technical guidance and coaching to facility leadership, EHS professionals, engineers, and operational teams on regulatory requirements, hazard recognition, risk management, and EHS best practices.
  • Supports implementation of corporate, regional, and facility‑level EHS initiatives, programs, campaigns, and improvement projects.
  • Assists facilities in identifying compliance risks and developing sustainable corrective actions to address audit findings, incidents, inspections, and regulatory requirements.
  • Reviews EHS performance data, leading indicators, and risk metrics to identify trends, prioritize improvement opportunities, and support proactive risk reduction efforts.
  • Supports regulatory inspections, customer audits, and other external engagements as needed.
  • Facilitates sharing of lessons learned, leading practices, and successful EHS initiatives across facilities to improve consistency and organizational learning.
  • Drives execution of the regional and global EHS roadmap by translating strategic priorities into actionable plans and measurable results.
  • Partners with global and regional EHS leaders to deploy standards, management systems, governance processes, and performance expectations across the region.
  • Identifies opportunities to standardize EHS processes, tools, and practices to improve effectiveness, efficiency, and consistency.
  • Collaborates with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Human Resources, and Supply Chain teams to integrate EHS principles into core business processes and projects.
  • Supports the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS standards, procedures, guidance documents, and management system requirements.
  • Coaches and develops facility EHS resources and operational leaders to strengthen organizational capability and accountability.
  • Monitors emerging regulatory requirements, industry trends, and best practices, providing recommendations to enhance EHS programs and organizational performance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Typically possesses 10 or more years of progressive EHS experience within manufacturing, industrial, packaging, or related operational environments.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting multiple facilities, business units, or geographic locations within a regional or multi‑site organization.
