Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) in Barcelona, Spain, seeks a Research Engineer to consolidate and extend the R data analysis tools used by the Earth Sciences Department. You will collaborate with climate scientists and IT specialists to maintain and improve a suite of R packages for data verification, visualization, and diagnostics in an HPC setting.

The role requires strong R skills, familiarity with climate data formats, UNIX/Linux, and experience with HPC architectures.

Formación

• Bachelor in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or related discipline.
• Excellent skills in R or similar languages.
• Knowledge of climate data formats (GRIB, NetCDF) and UNIX/Linux.
• Experience with HPC architectures, multi-threading, and Git.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinate developments of Department R tools, in close relation with the users, giving them the appropriate support with the use of them within a High-Performance Computing environment.
• Contribute to the deployment and installation of the packages in the shared department environment.
• Contribute to the ongoing strategy for the development of the Earth Sciences Department tools.
