The Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC-CNS) invites applications for the position of Research engineer - R data analysis tools developer (RE2) in the Earth Sciences Department. This full-time role focuses on coordinating R-based tools and supporting deployment in a high-performance computing setting.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's in a related field, strong R skills, climate data formats experience, and English fluency.

Formación

• Education: Bachelor in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Mathematics, Physics or related discipline.
• Excellent skills in R or similar languages.
• Knowledge of climate data formats (GRIB, NetCDF).
• Experience with UNIX/LINUX environments and scripting languages (bash, etc).
• Previous experience in HPC architecture and parallel programming will be valued.
• Good programming skills to manage big and collaborative projects and experience with git.
• Fluency in English, both speaking and writing.

Responsabilidades

• To coordinate developments of Department R tools, in close relation with the users, giving them the appropriate support with the use of them within a High-Performance Computing environment.
• To contribute to the deployment and installation of the packages in the shared department environment.
• To contribute to the ongoing strategy for the development of the Earth Sciences Department tools.
