Job summary

Lucanet in Spain is seeking a QA Engineer for Tax, Compliance and Reporting to own quality across manual and automated testing of the tax platform (e-balance and VAT). You will work with two agile product teams, coaching developers to improve their testing and applying AI to QA workflows.

You will build and maintain automated coverage using Playwright and TypeScript, drive test strategy, and help shape the testing framework as it evolves.

QA Engineer, Tax, Compliance and Reporting

Location: Spain

The role and the team

As a QA Engineer, Tax, Compliance and Reporting (all genders), you'll own quality across manual and automated testing for the teams building Lucanet's tax platform, spanning e-balance and VAT, while helping developers take growing ownership of their own testing.

You’ll work with two collaborative, quality-minded product teams, one in Java and one in .NET (no prior knowledge of either required), supporting them through a shift where developers are taking on more responsibility for their own tests. We look for people who keep growing, take real ownership, and lift the people around them.

What you'll do

• Own test strategy across manual and automated testing for Lucanet's Tax, Compliance and Reporting platform, spanning e-balance and VAT.
• Build and maintain automated test coverage using Playwright and TypeScript across two engineering teams.
• Coach and mentor developers to take ownership of their own testing, raising the bar for quality across both teams.
• Apply AI to sharpen QA workflows, from test design and automation to reporting and tooling.
• Build out performance testing from the ground up with K6, including framework design, monitoring and reporting.
• Partner with engineering leads to shape how quality is defined and built as the testing framework evolves.
• Report into the QA leadership team.

What you bring

• You have:
• Hands-on experience across manual and automated testing, including building test coverage with Playwright and TypeScript.
• A track record of putting AI to work in QA, whether for automation, test design, reporting or tooling.
• Comfort working in an agile way day to day, plus strong written and spoken English.
• A confident communicator who can work directly with developers to help them own their own testing.

It's a plus if you also have:

• Experience with performance testing, ideally with K6 (JMeter experience also welcome, as the switch is an easy one).
• Familiarity with Git-based version control and CI/CD tooling such as GitHub Actions.
• Exposure to Java or .NET codebases.
