Job Description:

The Olaberria´s plant faces significant logistical challenges due to its location, production planning, and the markets it serves:

• Limited storage area available due to physical location.
• Various storage options depending on the geometry, dimensions, and quality of each profile.
• Mandatory use of trucks to leave the plant for port, rail, or customer.

Batch production of different formats in standards such as DIN, British Standard, ASTM, and in various qualities, with shipments tailored to the specific loading or transportation method.

The plant operates 24/7/365, with shipments constrained by external restrictions, ship arrivals, and cargo arrangements in holds.

This complex logistics environment requires detailed design of storage, intermediate movements, and pallet sequencing, managed by highly specialized personnel. Cost efficiency, customer service excellence, and uninterrupted operations are critical.

The project aims to analyze the current scenario, restrictions, mitigation possibilities, and future developments, to reengineer the entire logistics process from the rolling mill to dispatch, considering:

• Optimization of storage and stowage for each product.
• Automated management and control of available spaces, including simulation of future scenarios and maintenance automation.
• Design of software and hardware proposals compatible with existing systems.
• Introduction of new technologies to enhance supply chain efficiency and resource utilization.

Depending on project progress, a second phase may involve automating the preparation of port loading orders.
