Job Description

Proposal Manager
Remote role, you can be based anywhere in Europe

What is the purpose of the role?

The Proposal Manager manages and oversees all of our opportunities, from qualification through to contract award. This includes value proposition, strategy development, solution development, commercial considerations, partner identification and risk management.

What are the day to day duties?

  1. Work with the Sales team to develop a strategy to WIN
  2. Review specifications and customer supplied documentation
  3. Understand the project requirements and assess against the winning strategy
  4. Work with the Process Engineering Team to understand, support and finalize the design of various flowsheet processes to solve water treatment problems for our Customers, ensuring alignment with the bid strategy
  5. Develop P&ID, drawings, and documents to complete the proposal submission and engage any support teams required
  6. Take accountability for the development and consolidation of the budget
  7. Utilise the relevant Costing tools
  8. Drive smart cost optimization and overall competitiveness
  9. Develop commercial proposals and technical supporting documentation
  10. Remain in the project until contract signature and hand over to the execution team
  11. Work with multidisciplinary teams such as Sales, Project Management, Engineering, Sourcing, Finance, Tax and Legal - to develop technically solid and competitive proposals
  12. Work with the Contracts Team for review of Commercial Terms & Conditions and any negotiation support required
  13. Proactively communicate with Customers during all steps of the commercial development
  14. Ensure all proposal records, Salesforce, etc are completed and updated
  15. Facilitate and communicate Lessons Learned to improve quality in future proposals

Qualifications

What skills and background will you likely have?

  1. Masters degree in engineering or time served
  2. Solid relevant experience in sales and commercial positions in industrial company.
  3. Proposal Management experience in international industrial and municipal B2B transactions with a heavy technology or services component.
  4. Knowledge of the water and wastewater industry and its relevant technologies (MBR, UF, EDR, RO, ZLD)
  5. Knowledge of international contracting practices in industrial and municipal transactions
  6. Fluent in English (oral and written) – able to present complex cases with ease in English
  7. Availability to travel on business as required
