The Opportunity :

Reporting to the Property Portfolio Manager, you will underwrite business in accordance with the business plan and within delegated underwriting authority.

Your responsibilities may include but are not limited to :

  1. Contributing to the delivery of the annual business plan by making appropriate decisions.
  2. Applying the reinsurance strategy to safeguard the Property portfolio.
  3. Participating in relevant meetings to share and develop strategy knowledge and best practices.
  4. Promoting the department, division, and company to maximize brand leverage.
  5. Performing underwriting activities in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  6. Adhering to underwriting standards and good practices to minimize risk and maximize efficiency.
  7. Recording and measuring insurance risks accurately, including DUAs if relevant.
  8. Understanding and complying with reinsurance requirements to meet business objectives.
  9. Developing relationships with stakeholders including customers, brokers, and partners to achieve business goals.
  10. Maintaining market knowledge to enhance performance.
  11. Ensuring proper documentation and data entry on EO systems.
  12. Participating in portfolio reviews and analysis to track progress.
  13. Motivating and coaching team members for professional development.
About you

You should have :

  1. 4 to 5 years of experience in Property risk underwriting.
  2. High numeracy and literacy skills.
  3. Strong organizational, prioritization, and analytical skills.
  4. Interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  5. Data analysis skills for decision making.
  6. Teamwork and collaboration abilities.
  7. Understanding of class-specific underwriting and reinsurance knowledge.
  8. Knowledge of relevant Property market conditions.
  9. Familiarity with QBE underwriting systems.
  10. Intermediate proficiency in Excel and other software.
  11. Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements.
  12. Proficiency in English.
