A global engineering and technology company is seeking a Procurement Manager in Barcelona. The role involves developing procurement strategies, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring compliance with policies. The ideal candidate has 5-8 years of experience in procurement, excellent negotiation and communication skills, and a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Proficiency in English is a must, with additional languages being advantageous.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies tailored to project needs.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and negotiate favorable terms with suppliers while maintaining quality standards.
  • Align procurement plans with project schedules, budgets, and objectives.
  • Evaluate and prequalify suppliers and subcontractors based on project requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers for reliability and collaboration.
  • Monitor supplier performance, including quality, delivery, and contractual compliance.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, purchase orders, and agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual, legal, and company policies.
  • Manage contract changes, claims, and disputes collaboratively with legal and project teams.
  • Oversee procurement processes, including RFQs, bid evaluations, and contract awards.
  • Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials, equipment, and services.
  • Track procurement progress and address delays proactively.
  • Manage procurement budgets and ensure cost control throughout projects.
  • Analyze market trends and pricing to maintain competitive practices.
  • Report regularly on procurement costs, savings, and financial performance.
  • Identify and mitigate procurement risks, including supply chain disruptions and price fluctuations.
  • Develop contingency plans to ensure project continuity.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with policies, standards, and regulations.
  • Maintain organized records of procurement activities and supplier performance.
  • Conduct audits and reviews to promote transparency and accountability.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field; master's degree or certifications (CPM, CPSM, PMP) are a plus.
  • Experience: 5-8 years in procurement, supply chain, or project management, preferably in construction, engineering, energy, or manufacturing sectors. Proven experience managing procurement for large projects.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of procurement processes, contract management, ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Ariba), and project management tools.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent negotiation, communication, interpersonal skills, analytical and problem-solving abilities, leadership, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Languages: Proficiency in English required; additional languages are advantageous.
