This role involves managing utilities related projects and ensuring timely delivery within budget. Candidates should have a strong project management background, technical expertise, and a degree in engineering.

Formación

• 5+ to 15+ years of experience as a Project Manager in similar roles.
• Experience working with EPCM or EPC companies.
• Proficiency in English; knowledge of Dutch is a prerequisite.

For our client in Ghent, we are hiring a Project Manager Utilities.

Joining an ambitious and dynamic project, you will be part of the project team in Ghent as a Project Manager for some of the Utility projects. Your experience will be key in supporting the team in handling the delivery on time and within budget of this major project.

Besides the main process vessel, there are also many other critical steelmaking equipment/assets necessary to produce excellent steel qualities, such as hot metal ladle burners, steel ladle transfer cars, off-gas treatment, hydraulic systems, etc.

Key Tasks :

• Manage parts of the Utilities infrastructure project (budget: > 30M EUR).
• Collaborate closely with EPCM and permitting partners, review schedules, formulate civil scopes, and enforce D&E standardization.
• Ensure integration and validate brownfield adaptations where applicable.
• Review and approve documents, drawings, and change requests.
• Coordinate internal reviews and stakeholder engagement to address gaps and ensure follow-through.
• Escalate governance issues promptly and suggest corrective actions.
• Drive process improvements throughout the project lifecycle, leveraging lessons learned and identifying opportunities.
• Analyze improvement areas from maturity assessments, evaluate use cases, prioritize, and propose actions.
• Support and report to the Steelmaking plant project delivery lead.

Profile : Technical Skills :

• Experience working with EPCM or EPC companies.
• Strong expertise in Project Management.
• Goal-oriented, results-driven, proactive, with leadership qualities and attention to detail.
• Effective communicator capable of engaging with senior executives and stakeholders, persuading them to meet deadlines.

Job Experience / Other Skills :

• 5+ to 15+ years of experience as a Project Manager in similar roles (medior/senior profiles).

Relevant experience in process systems (mainly water & piping) and electro-mechanical installations is required.

Professional certification in PMI or Prince2 is a plus.

Education :

Master or Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent technical education.

Language Skills :

Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of Dutch is a prerequisite.

Additional Information :

Regular travel to Spain and other European countries (Madrid, Bilbao).
