Formación

  • 5+ years of experience in project management, preferably in utilities.
  • Professional certification in PMI or Prince2 is a plus.

Job Title: Project Manager Utilities

For our client in Ghent, we are hiring a Project Manager for Utilities.

Joining an ambitious and dynamic project, you will be part of the project team in Ghent, managing some of the Utility projects. Your experience will be key in supporting the team to deliver on time and within budget for this major project.

The project involves various critical steelmaking equipment and assets, such as hot metal ladle burners, steel ladle transfer cars, off-gas treatment, hydraulic systems, among others, in addition to the main process vessel.

Key Tasks :
  • Manage parts of the Utilities infrastructure project with a budget of over 30M EUR.
  • Collaborate closely with EPCM and permitting partners, reviewing schedules, civil scopes, and enforcing D&E standardization.
  • Ensure integration and validate brownfield adaptations where applicable.
  • Review and approve documents, drawings, and change requests.
  • Coordinate internal reviews and stakeholder engagement to address gaps and ensure follow-through.
  • Escalate governance issues promptly and propose solutions to keep the project on track.
  • Drive continuous process improvements using lessons learned and identify opportunities for enhancement.
  • Analyze improvement areas, evaluate use cases, prioritize actions, and propose solutions.
  • Support and report to the Steelmaking plant project delivery lead.
Candidate Profile

Technical Skills :

  • Experience working with EPCM or EPC companies.
  • Expertise in Project Management.
  • Goal-oriented, results-driven, proactive, with leadership qualities and attention to detail.
  • Effective communicator capable of engaging with senior executives and stakeholders to meet deadlines.

Job Experience / Other Skills :

  • 5+ years or 15+ years of experience as a Project Manager in similar roles (we seek medior to senior profiles).
  • Relevant experience in process systems (mainly water and piping) and electro-mechanical installations.
  • Professional certification in PMI or Prince2 is a plus.
Education :

Master or Bachelor degree in engineering or equivalent technical education.

Language Skills :

English is required; knowledge of Dutch is a prerequisite.

Additional Information :

Regular travel to Spain and other European countries, such as Madrid and Bilbao, is expected.
