About the job Project Manager - Stone Fabrication
The Project Manager is responsible for the completion of all assigned projects throughout the award, procurement, fabrication, delivery, installation, punch list, and closeout to ensure the project is completed on time and on budget. This role includes compliance with our clients' quality, process, and procedure policies.
The PM will manage assigned projects throughout the award, procurement, design, fabrication, delivery, installation, punch list, and closeout phases, ensuring that all aspects are completed on time and within budget. The PM will also ensure project compliance with contracts, plans, and specifications. Additionally, the PM will verify overall project compliance with clients' quality, process, and procedure policies. Effective management of project staff, suppliers, fabricators, labor, and resource planning throughout the project lifecycle is essential.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Meet with clients and designers to understand the overall scope and client expectations for marble or granite solutions.
- Prepare and maintain project schedules, monitoring progress to ensure timely material, fabrication, and labor performance.
- Assess resource requirements for assigned projects and coordinate these with in-house staff, vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Attend meetings at customer locations, job sites, and supplier facilities.
- Track proposal costs against actual costs, ensuring projects remain on or below budget. Regularly report to Owners on financial performance and prepare close-out reports upon project completion.
- Negotiate and manage purchases with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors, preparing purchase orders as necessary.
- Document, negotiate, and resolve change orders, extra work orders, and claims while maintaining a change order log.
- Coordinate and supervise the preparation of shop drawings in AutoCAD, field measurements, and cut tickets, ensuring compliance with project plans and specifications.
- Ensure adherence to client quality standards.
- Follow company policies, procedures, and processes while upholding company values and principles.
- Maintain commitments to clients, co-workers, and team members.
- Special projects and additional duties may be assigned.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for effective communication with customers, in-house teams, and outside vendors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Work well in a group environment, providing and welcoming feedback.
- Effectively coordinate team efforts by supplying necessary and timely information to achieve project goals.
- Anticipate and resolve problems, bottlenecks, and conflicts.
- Detail-oriented, able to track and organize information and communications to address project issues promptly and properly.
- Organized and prompt in dealings with customers, internal departments, fabricators, and suppliers.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in Project Management within the Stone/Granite/Quartz fabrication and installation industry.
- Ability to design, read, and interpret documents such as AutoCAD blueprints, written specifications, RFIs, and procedure manuals.
- Proficient in writing submittals, transmittals, and general business correspondence.
- Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively in front of customers and co-workers.
- Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Able to travel to customer job sites, suppliers, and fabricators, with some out-of-state and overseas travel required.
- Ability to apply mathematical skills, including square footage, cubic footage, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume, and perform basic metric conversions.
- Must possess a valid G license and vehicle, as travel to customer sites around the GTA is required.
