ZeroCO2 - Project Manager for Forestry & Carbon
ZeroCO2 is expanding its portfolio of high-impact reforestation projects. We seek a professional experienced in managing multi-stakeholder projects to lead the technical and operational development of carbon projects based on afforestation, agroforestry, and assisted natural regeneration, aligned with standards like Plan Vivo, Verra, and Gold Standard.
Your role will be vital in ensuring the quality, integrity, and scalability of our initiatives, working closely with local partners, technical teams, and institutions.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of community-based ARR carbon projects, ensuring compliance with international standards and addressing challenges such as local engagement and permanence.
- Coordinate stakeholders at local and international levels, fostering dialogue and cooperation.
- Oversee technical and financial reporting, including budgeting and expenditure tracking.
- Analyze methodologies under major GHG programs to improve technical frameworks.
- Plan and supervise forest monitoring campaigns, data collection, and analysis.
- Contribute to project design improvements and strategic planning.
- Support fundraising and prepare materials for investors and funding calls.
- Lead project sourcing in Latin America, assessing new ARR initiatives for feasibility and compliance with GHG criteria.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing complex projects, preferably in forestry, community initiatives, or international cooperation.
- Deep knowledge of the voluntary carbon market and GHG methodologies.
- Background in forestry, agronomy, environmental economics, or related fields.
- Strong organizational and team management skills.
- Proficiency in Excel, project management tools (e.g., Asana, ClickUp), and geospatial tools (e.g., Google Earth, QGIS).
- Native or near-native Spanish (C2) and excellent English (C1+).
- Willingness to travel frequently across Latin America.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with carbon project management and certification processes.
- Knowledge of environmental or climate finance.
- Advanced skills in remote sensing and digital MRV systems.
